OUR STORY

A Tranquil Retreat in the Heart of Robertson

Escape to Almond Tree Cottage, a beautifully restored 1870s heritage cottage offering stylish self-catering accommodation in Robertson, combining timeless character with modern comforts.

The Main Cottage offers two spacious air-conditioned bedrooms — one king en-suite and one queen with a separate bathroom — sleeping up to four guests. For groups of up to six, Suite Almond can be added, providing a private queen en-suite bedroom with its own separate entrance off the courtyard.

This flexible layout makes Almond Tree Cottage ideal for romantic getaways, family holidays or escapes with friends. After a day exploring Robertson and the surrounding Winelands, cool off in the private swimming pool or enjoy a traditional South African braai in the secluded courtyard.

Our History & Restoration

Originally known as ERF No. 71, Almond Tree Cottage forms part of Robertson's earliest development, with its origins dating back to the late 1800s. Lovingly restored between 2021 and 2022, the cottage retains its heritage character while incorporating thoughtful modern comforts.

Many original features remain, including sash windows, shutters, doors and fittings. Reclaimed materials were carefully reused throughout the restoration, from the old kitchen fireplace, now home to a Dover oven, to handcrafted pine cabinetry and salvaged timber details.

In 2026, Suite Almond was added following the same restoration philosophy, incorporating original materials and finishes that blend naturally with the historic home.

Named after the almond tree on its corner, Almond Tree Cottage is a quiet tribute to Robertson's past — a character-filled home where guests can enjoy its history while adding memories of their own.
